Sunsets

These are a few photos that I took the other day. I didn't really have anywhere to put them though, so I figured I'd post them up here.

This is a sunset photo I took a few days ago and I just love the clouds. Everyday is a completely new scene giving me countless opportunities to get more sunset shots. I love sunset shots!

Assignment Seven: Macro

My last assignment for Digital Photography was macro and I had a lot of fun with it. It did take some time to get the macro figured out on the camera, but once I did, they came out pretty well. I took pictures of some flowers outside of school and I got a few shots of the wheat fields out behind my backyard. I also took a few photos of a belt buckle that my friend, Maureen, gave to me a few years ago and it remains very important to me.

Here are my two favorite shots from this assignment:

ISO: 800
Aperture: f/ 5.6
Shutter: 1/60

ISO: 100
Aperture: f/ 5.6
Shutter: 1/640

And below is a slideshow of the rest of my macro shots.

Assignment Six: Light Painting

For my assignment this week, I explored the world of light painting. By setting a very long shutter speed on the camera (up to 30 seconds on the one I used), the camera will capture the pictures that you can create with light. It is much harder than it looks and while I did get a few good shots, I think there is much to improve on and I will definitely continue to work with the effects of light painting. I think I'll give macro a shot next!

Here is the best shot I got for light painting:

ISO: 100
Aperture: f/3.5
Shutter Speed: 20 seconds

Here is a slideshow of the rest of my light painting photos.
