Portrait Demo

Our focus this week was on both 'window portraits' and more professional portraits taken in the studio. We also continued to learn about Gimp and the many tools it has for editing and manipulating the photos we took.
The photo on the right was taken by a window using the natural light from that and a white bounce paper on the other side to reflect the light onto the other side of the subject's face.
The photo on the left was taken in a studio with professional-type lights. The one behind is called the hair light and there is also one on either side of the subject.
This was a great assignment as we learned more about taking a great photo and editing it to make it look even better.

I have been waiting for the next addition. These are nice. I like how you used shallow dof on your family photos. I am thinking that nifty little fill flash would have helped bring the boys out a little.

Thank you Maureen! I will keep that in mind for my next shots.
